Two Mystery French Soldiers - Who are they?

 
 
Can you help me identify these French marching soldiers?  I took a look at the Hinton Hunter and there were some similar figures, but none that I saw with their arms and hands positioned in quite this way (note the hand is away from the rifle and not entirely across the body).

There are no markings on the bottom of the bases and it does not appear that they have been filed.

    1. Yes. I have enough to build a battalion of each.

  2. They look a bit like Hessen-Darmstadt marching poses converted to look like French line infantry with the addition of shako cords and epaulettes.

    2. Dunno - French line fusiliers and grenadiers I'd say. Not quite right for the guard.

  3. Well, if you got a battalion of each, presumably whoever sold them knew what they were or listed them as something?

    1. He said he had tried to identify them and had gotten the opinion of others and that he thought they might be French Middle Guard marching and French light infantry marching. What would you paint them as?
