I'm only guessing but would suspect an 1806 Prussian.
ReplyDeleteCould the horse be SXN/1 Saxon Cuirassier horse?
ReplyDeleteHe is definitely the French hussar in mirliton. He was made to go with the French in bicorne infantry that HH made. The horse looks like the mount for the seperate line dragoons and cuirassiers. The horse for this boy is the one appropriate to line hussars and chevaux- legers which has a sheepskin shabrack and round portmanteau. An officer would remove the carbine and use a horse with cloth pointed tail shabraque and no pirtmanteau or leopardskin.
ReplyDeleteThat is what I thought. He might make an interesting officer.
DeleteI mean that is what I thought about the correct horse for this trooper, after he was identified as the hussar in mirliton. Thank you for identifying him (I thought he might have been a personality). He still may turn out to be one, if I convert him into an officer.
DeleteI think the horse is actually a Saxon heavy cavalry horse!! Looks like it has those prominent pistol holster covers.
